CONCERTS IN 2015


AN EVENING OF ENGLISH MUSIC
A joint concert with Churchill Academy, Bristol Cathedral Choir School, Trinity Singers, Bristol Cathedral Special Choir and Harmonia Sacra.Concert prformances included Tippett's Five Negro Spirituals, Harris's Faire is the Heaven, Parry's I was glad and Purcell's Hear my Prayer.

CARDINAL KING
Rediscovered music composed for Henry Benedict Stuart in Rome 1740 - 1790. A joint concert by Cappella Fede and Harmonia Sacra.

ETERNAL LIGHT
After a weekend of recording our new CD of contemporary choral music, we performed a selection of new works by British composers including Jonathan Lee, Robert Hugill, Peter Leech and Lawrence Whitehead as well as a selection of music from our other discs.

Harmonia Sacra sung at all the services at Wells Cathedral from Friday 31st July through to Sunday 2nd August 2015


ADVENT REFLECTIONS
Comprising our usual mixture of old and new choral music, this year's concert included the majestic and ethereal Nesciens Mater by Jean Mouton, Palestrina's O magnum mysterium, a setting of Alma redemptoris Mater by the seventeenth-century female composer Isabella Leonarda and John Tavener's Advent Antiphon
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT
Harmonia Sacra returned to All Saints Church, Weston-super-Mare for their highly acclaimed Carol service. They were accompanied by Bristol Brass Consort and Andrew Kirk on organ. There was a retiring collection for the RNLI.
